What
do I get?
- A
skilled partner with more than 20 years experience working
with individuals at all stages of their careers.
- A
person who will assist you in setting a direction; encourage
you as you move forward.
- A
sounding board for your career or business hypotheses.
- Someone
knowledgeable about the community and its resources.
How
will we work together?
- If
you’re unsure about whether we will work together
effectively, call with questions or schedule a 30-minute
complimentary meeting. During our time together we can
learn more about you and your goals, and you can determine
if our work style is compatible with your needs.
- Once
we have decided to move forward, we ask clients to complete
a goals and objectives inventory that will help us set
direction for our meetings. Although you will need to
think about your answers, this takes less than 20 minutes
to complete.
- In
addition, we provide a Services Agreement that outlines
our mutual responsibilities as we commence our working
relationship.
How
often will we meet?
- You
set the pace of your work and set goals for progress.
If you are interested in making a job or career change,
more frequent meetings will help us stay on track and
move forward. Meeting less than twice a month makes it
difficult to make substantial progress.
- Some
people have very directed goals and will complete this
process in a brief period.
- Major
life changes take time. Expect a change of direction
to take 6-18 months.
- At
each of our meetings we will set goals and determine
steps to complete before our next session. This process
will assist your progress.
What
about confidentiality? I don’t want my current employer
to know that I am considering a change.
- Our
work is done in strictest confidence. You determine if
and when our work together is discussed outside of our
office. When you begin seeking information about other
positions, you may choose to talk with others about your
career exploration. Together we will determine the best
strategies for discreetly exploring new opportunities.
How
can I learn more about how you work and if this is right
for me?
- If
you would like to talk with a current or former client
for perspective on our process, we will arrange a referral.
This is a relationship critical to your future success.
We are happy to discuss your current circumstances in
confidence.
